Threshold Dialogue: Cambridge pilot
What is the Cambridge Community Dialogue?
The Cambridge Community Dialogue was run as a Partnership Venture between Prison Dialogue and Cambridge Probation Service from 1993 to 1996. It involved the Magistrate Courts, Probation and Prison Dialogue partnering to provide a weekly Community Dialogue for Cambridge offenders who were required to report to Probation under supervision. Facilitation was provided by Dave Parsons and Peter Garrett who conceived of the initiative and recorded the proceedings. Half the attendees were offenders under supervision, whilst the other half were Probation Officers and local people from Cambridge (including a fireman, a pensioner, a secretary, a magistrate, a local employer and so on). Refer to dialogue session reports.
